IRVINE, Calif. – June 11, 2008 – No good deed goes unrecognized with the Irvine Celebrates event, presented by The Irvine Company. The Irvine Chamber and the City of Irvine are teaming up to thank all the generous volunteers who have pitched in their time and talents to make this community a better place to live and work. In addition, local non-profit organizations will be available to meet with individuals and companies looking to support a charitable cause.
 “I look forward to joining with the business community and leaders from throughout our city for what promises to be a wonderful evening,” Mayor Beth Krom said.
 The Chamber and the City will also be presenting several awards, including Citizen of the Year, the Jamie Trevor Award and the Member of the Year Award.
 “In addition to celebrating the work of the Chamber and its leadership, I look forward to the presentation of the Family Friendly Business Award and the Disability Friendly Business Award, honoring local businesses who reflect the spirit of our community in special ways,” Mayor Krom said. “We have a lot to celebrate in the City of Irvine.”
