Irvine Chamber - Irvine Chamber Webinar Highlights U.S. and Korea Free Trade Agreement

Webinar will teach viewers what the US & Korea FTA means for them

IRVINE, Calif. – July 24, 2012 – The Irvine Chamber of Commerce Irvine Global Markets Intelligence webinar series will feature Export Opportunities for U.S. Businesses: South Korea and The New Free Trade Agreement. The webinar will be presented by a U.S. Senior Commercial Officer from the U.S. Embassy – Seoul, South Korea. The webinar will air on Wednesday, August 1st, from 4pm-5pm PST.

The U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement (FTA) put into effect March 15, 2012.  On the day of implementation, nearly 80 percent of U.S. industrial goods exports to Korea are considered duty-free including aerospace equipment, agricultural equipment, auto parts, building products, chemicals, consumer goods, electrical equipment, environmental goods, travel goods, paper products, scientific equipment and shipping and transportation equipment. Other benefits of the FTA include:

  • Stronger protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in Korea.
  • Increased access to Korea’s $580 billion services market for highly competitive American companies.
The Irvine Global Market Insights Webinar Series is designed to provide business opportunity awareness and decision support for companies in Irvine, Orange County, and the U.S. business communities at large. The live webinars are available free and present information briefs on International Market Profiles and Import/Export Opportunities.
