Irvine Chamber - Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast / Bringing together the community

The annual Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast brings together local organizations, schools, and business and civic leaders to have breakfast during the holiday season. Local schools are often invited to perform and provide musical entertainment.

The location for Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast 2009 will be decided at a later date.

Last year, the 2008 Thanksgiving Prayer Breakfast was hosted at the Irvine Marriott Hotel and sponsored by the Exchange Club of Irvine, the City of Irvine and the Irvine Chamber.

The 2008 Prayer Breakfast featured speaker Erwin Chemerinsky, founding dean and professor of law at the UC Irvine Bren School of Law. Chemerinsky, a nationally renowned scholar of constitutional law and civil procedure, is responsible for the school’s academic and administrative leadership, including developing and implementing a scholarly and educational vision that will take the school from start-up to top-tier status.

Chemerinsky was professor of law and political science at Duke University,  professor of public interest law, legal ethics, and political science at the University of Southern California Law School, and law professor at DePaul College of Law.

Past speakers included Irvine Unified School District Superintendent Gwen Gross, Assemblyman Todd Spitzer, County Supervisor Todd Spitzer, and Pulitzer-Prize Winning Cartoonist Mike Ramirez.
